Club Continental 2022 “Art and Garden Party”

Tuesday, May 17, 2022 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm 
Sponsored by the Art Guild of Orange Park, the Garden Club of Fleming Island, and The Club Continental

Ticket price of $5 includes one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets to win plants and art work will be sold at door. Delicious hors d’oeuvres created by The Club Continental will be served to guests. There is a cash bar. The art and plant displays are on exhibit this one evening only.

Art and Garden Party

Instructions for Artists bringing art to this special fund raising event:

  • Plein Air painting at Club Continental will be available on Mondays during the month of April
  • All works must be pre-registered with Dee Roberts by email by May 15th. Send jpeg images with your information to [email protected]
  • Take in: Tuesday, May 17, 9:00 – 10:30 am
  • Paid members of the Art Guild may enter 2 pieces
  • This is a one day exhibit.
  • The Exhibit is not juried or judged
  • All works must be for sale.
  • All works must be properly framed (with D rings and wire) or on 1 1/2″ gallery wrapped canvas (with D rings and wire)
  • All works must have labels with artist information and price attached to the wire in the back
  • All works must be the original concept and work of the submitting artist.  
  • Size: 11 x 14 – 24 x 30 will hang on walls
  • Paintings and photographs must be inspired by gardens, florals, local scenes or the river
  • Entries may be landscapes or still life
  • No Prints will be accepted to hang on walls
  • Members may bring prints (with a printed inventory list) to sell from print bins provided
  • The Art Guild will process credit cards for the sale of artists’ work. A 3% fee will be charged for processing credit cards
  • The Art Guild will take a 10% commission on sales of art work which will go towards the Courtney Hunt Scholarship Award
  • A 10% commission should be paid to the Art Guild if a piece is sold as a result of the exhibit at a later date
  • Art work hung on the walls of the Garden Room will be retained until July 11
  • Art on easels and in the room with fireplace will be removed by the artist at 7:30 that evening
  • Photographs will be taken of the art in the exhibit for possible sales after the event
  • Giclees and prints are appreciated in the raffles and silent auction…BUT must be labeled to make the public aware that the giclee is a high quality reproduction (even if enhanced by some hand painting)
